We’re delighted to introduce Leopard Cubs, our 50 week Nursery for boys and girls aged 3-4, created to give children the very best start to their learning journey.
Set right at the heart of Prestfelde School, this is more than a Nursery. It’s the beginning of something exciting, where early childhood becomes a daily adventure, and every experience helps build confidence and curiosity.

A First Glimpse of What’s to Come
From the very first days, children are gently welcomed into school life in a way that feels natural, happy and secure.
Each day is shaped around play, discovery and time outdoors, giving children the freedom to explore and grow at their own pace.
A typical day might include:
- Forest School adventures in our woodland
- Music, movement, French, PE or dance with specialist teachers
- Play-based learning that builds confidence and independence
Forest School Adventures
Children venture into our school woodland for hands-on discovery, exploring nature, building resilience, and developing a connection with the outdoors.
Music, Movement & Dance
Specialist teachers lead sessions in music, French, PE and dance - introducing creative expression and physical confidence from an early age.
Play-Based Learning
Purposefully designed play activities build confidence, independence, social skills, and early literacy and numeracy in a joyful, nurturing environment.
Designed Around Real Family Life
We know family routines don’t always fit neatly around the school day, so Leopard Cubs has been designed with flexibility at its heart:
- Care from 7.30am – 6.00pm
- Term-time or 50-week year-round options
- Flexible session choices
- Fresh, healthy meals prepared on site
As our youngest pupils, our Leopard Cubs are taking their very first steps on the Prestfelde journey. From day one, they begin building strong foundations that will shape and support their future learning in a meaningful way.
At Prestfelde, our Early Years provision makes a real difference:
85% of pupils reach Early Learning Goals (compared with 65% locally)
and just as importantly, they start school feeling confident, settled and ready to learn.
