Senior School is for pupils in Year 6 to Year 8 aged 10 – 12 years.
Year 7 Pupil Sienna takes us through a day in Senior School….
As I arrive to school at 8am in the morning, I approach my form room hoping not to be late. I glance at my time table and find that my first lesson is Art: perfect. Art is one of my favourite lessons; we do so many exciting topics and are currently studying Pop Art. The art room has lots of windows that allow light to flood in, allowing us to see the stunning views over the school’s grounds. It has such a relaxed atmosphere, which really inspires my creativity and artistic ideas.
Once Art is over, I make my way to Chapel, a beautiful building where we meet for both religious and non-religious services. My classmates and I sit down and wait patiently for Mrs. Orchard to begin. We celebrate all of the things pupils have achieved this week. Then it is time to go to morning break. My friends and I get changed in Beckbury and go to have fun on the play equipment and swings.
After break, it is time for English; my favourite lesson of all. We are annotating a poem called ‘The Raven’ by Edgar Allen Poe as part of a study of Gothic literature. It is extremely interesting and soon we will be moving onto writing our own Gothic stories. I plan to write a story about a girl who is stranded on an island – I love to write creatively.
Lunch is in the dining hall is something we all look forward to. The Chef makes food from around the world and we get the opportunity to taste new, healthy things every day. Please click here for an example of our menu. This sets me up perfectly for an afternoon of Games.
This afternoon we are playing Lacrosse against Packwood. It is an exciting match with both sides playing exceptionally well. I am really proud of how our team works together to intercept passes.
I love coming to Prestfelde!
