National Schools Recycling Project

As part of our Eco-schools work, we are collecting bottle tops as part of a national schools recycling project organised by the local British Ironwork Centre in Oswestry.

The idea is for each participating school to fill the giraffe with bottle tops (once or as many times as needed over a one-month period) and use them to create something useful and innovative for their school or community.

We currently have a very large, green giraffe standing tall in the dining room which is being filled with plastic or metal bottle tops. Once filled our pupils will look at creative ways to reuse these and hopefully the children will have lots of fantastic ideas for innovative ways they can be used. The giraffe is with us for four weeks before moving on to school pastures new. It would be great if you could collect as many bottle tops as possible and bring them into school to add to the giraffe; hopefully we’ll be able to fill it at least once!
