Celts take the House Cross-Country Cup

Celts take the House Cross-Country Cup
Ceri Vaughan-Jones

A damp and drizzly Friday couldn’t stop the runners from Prestfelde’s four Houses – Vikings, Celts, Saxons and Normans – from lacing up their running shoes and taking on the annual House Cross-Country.

Pupils from across the school took to the course, racing through Prestfelde’s beautiful 30-acre grounds as they competed for valuable House points and the coveted Cross-Country Cup.

Despite the wet conditions, there was plenty of enthusiasm on the course, with runners tackling the route at their own pace and giving their all from start to finish. The atmosphere was boosted by enthusiastic support from spectators, who cheered the runners on as they made their way around the grounds.

For many pupils, the House Cross-Country is as much about taking part and supporting their House as it is about the final result. Every runner contributed to their House’s overall score, with determination, resilience and plenty of encouragement on display throughout the afternoon.

And after a fantastic afternoon of racing, it was House Celts who lifted the Cup.

House Cross-Country results

1st – Celts

2nd – Saxons

3rd – Vikings

4th – Normans

A huge well done to every pupil who took part, and thank you to everyone who came along to support and cheer the runners on.

An amazing effort from everyone – true Prestfelde spirit!
