Prestfelde featured in The Good Schools Guide

We are delighted to share that Prestfelde School has been independently reviewed by The Good Schools Guide, one of the UK’s best-known sources of information for parents choosing schools.

Following an in-depth visit to Prestfelde, the review team spent time in classrooms, spoke with pupils, staff and parents, and explored many aspects of school life, from teaching and learning and pastoral care to boarding, sport, music and the creative curriculum. The Good Schools Guide describes its reviews as independent and says schools cannot pay to be included or influence the editorial content.

We are thrilled with what they saw, and, perhaps most importantly, with how closely their observations reflect what we already know about our school and the experience of our pupils and families.

The review describes Prestfelde as “an absolute gem”, highlighting the school as a “spirited, ambitious and, above all, happy prep”. It also captures the strong sense of community that sits at the heart of school life, with one parent describing the staff as “fabulous” and another praising the balance of an academic education with a “nurturing and encouraging” approach.

The review also recognises the breadth of opportunities available to our pupils, including our creative curriculum, music, art and DT, sport, boarding and extensive co-curricular programme. The reviewers commented particularly on the quality of pupils’ creative work and the range of opportunities available beyond the classroom.

It was also lovely to see the things that make Prestfelde distinctive reflected in the report – our focus on knowing pupils as individuals, encouraging them to try new things, developing their independence and providing an environment where children are supported to reach their potential.

As a school, we are proud of the education and experience we provide every day, so it is particularly pleasing to have an independent organisation spend time getting to know Prestfelde and recognise so many of the qualities our pupils, parents and staff value.
